Omarchy QA is about to get real. ThePrimeagen, who joined Omarchy Core in September to lead agentic QA, posted “Big Omarchy QA News” on X: Omarchy QA will start running against nightly builds every day.
What’s new
- The harness, named Oligarchy on the dashboard, is his “second fully running agent test harness where they decide what is good.”
- It has a live dashboard with jobs, suites and servers that move through the states you’d expect from a build server, and you can follow running jobs and cancel them.
- The screenshot shows a 4.0.4 run with 20 tests, things like a theme sync check, a password change that keeps the disk password, and a step-by-step check that opens a terminal with Super+Return and runs the
fffinder. - He admits it’s going slower than he hoped and the custom harness isn’t fast yet. The site is private for now, but he’s thinking about making it public.
- DHH quoted it: “You wouldn’t believe the hours I spent manually testing and verifying Omarchy releases during the first year… we can finally replace all that toil with agents.”
My take
This is the right use of agents. Clicking through every keybinding and theme on every release is exactly the kind of work humans skip when they’re tired. Agents that drive a real desktop, take screenshots and decide pass or fail every night means regressions get caught before they hit my machine. With 4.5 bringing ARM ISOs, more hardware and 50 languages, nightly agent QA couldn’t come at a better time. I’d love to see that dashboard go public.
Have a blessed day! And Happy Hacking!
