Hacker team Calif, who jailbroke the iPhone Duo on launch day, posted video of a jailbroken iPhone 18 Pro with Lockdown Mode on, MacRumors reports. The jailbreak survived an update to iOS 27.2.
What we know
- It starts with a malicious PDF sent over AirDrop, which the user accepted
- Exact steps are unknown, and it’s unclear whether it works on a device already on 27.2
- Calif says it’s disclosing bugs to Apple and doesn’t plan to release a public jailbreak
Apple has said it knows of no successful mercenary spyware attacks against Lockdown Mode.
My take
Garlic because details are thin. The easy lesson: don’t accept AirDrop files from people you don’t know. Set AirDrop to Contacts Only and keep updating.
God Bless, and Needs Garlic!
