Apple added a clause to its insider trading policy, “No Trading in Prediction Markets Based on Confidential Information,” MacRumors reports. It was filed with the SEC alongside Apple’s 10-K and marked “Updated October 2026.”
- Employees can’t bet or trade on future events using confidential info from work, including info about suppliers, manufacturers, customers and carriers
- Not a blanket ban, and employees also can’t tip others
- It covers directors, employees, contractors, consultants and the family members who live with them
My take
Betting on the next iPhone launch date with inside info was always a bad idea. Now it’s in writing.
God Bless, and May the Source Be with You!
