On Isaiah Saldivar’s podcast, deliverance minister Alexander Pagani named three signs that a church is drifting into deception, even while everything still looks spiritual. Charisma has the story.
The three signs
- Fabricated testimonies. “White lies” and made-up miracle stories to stir up a crowd, plus “data mining” people’s social media and passing it off as a word of knowledge. “We need to fact check,” he said.
- Mixture. Angel cards and horoscopes dressed up in prophetic language. “They’re doing straight prophetic horoscopes.”
- Double standards. Leaders who call out sin in others that they won’t deal with in themselves.
My take
I love the gifts. I want more healing, more prophecy, more of the Spirit moving, not less. That’s exactly why this matters. Counterfeits only exist because the real thing is valuable. Paul said “do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21), and John said “test the spirits” (1 John 4:1). The real Holy Spirit doesn’t need us to exaggerate for Him. He always points to Jesus (John 16:14).
Pagani also said people should be able to bring honest questions to their pastors without being intimidated. Amen. Healthy Spirit-led churches welcome that.
God Bless, and Use the Source!
