OpenCode v2.0.30 (October 15, 2026) makes the TUI diff viewer open beside your session by default via /diff — press f to flip full screen. Desktop/Timeline can show per-turn changed files and expandable diffs. Also worth noting: OPENCODE_DISABLE_CLAUDE_CODE and OPENCODE_DISABLE_CLAUDE_CODE_SKILLS, plus a config schema that accepts both V1 and V2 shapes during migration.
MCP and OAuth cleanup
The changelog calls out MCP compatibility work: skip unsupported catalog/codemode calls, advertise elicitation capabilities, and accept *.localhost OAuth token endpoints. TinyFish web search MCP session init is restored. If you wire local MCP servers behind odd OAuth hosts, this release is aimed at you.
Other fixes: protocol-specific inference endpoints, null namespaces in Responses function calls, compaction limits fitted to the actual request, Windows background service defaulting to port 45278. Option+↑/↓ jumps session tabs (add Shift for unread).
My take
Side-by-side diffs in the TUI are the daily-driver win — less context switching when an agent is rewriting three files at once. Upgrade, run /diff once, and decide if the docked layout matches your terminal width. I want agent tools that show the blast radius, not just the chat transcript.
If you still have V1 config lying around, the dual schema support is your migration seatbelt. Upgrade, open a busy session, and make sure MCP servers that used to flake on localhost OAuth come back clean before you trust an unattended agent loop.
Retired session-sharing backend and removed /share are easy to miss in a highlights skim. If your muscle memory still types share commands, expect them gone and move on.
Have a blessed day!
