Apple is inviting select media to an all-day “product launch experience” in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
What’s expected
- Touchscreen MacBook Pro: redesigned 14- and 16-inch models with OLED, a Dynamic Island and much lighter designs. Gurman says they’ll stay MacBook Pro, not “MacBook Ultra.”
- M6 Macs: M6 versions of the 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac.
- iPad mini: OLED and a front camera positioned for landscape calls.
Gurman earlier said Apple would announce “on or around” October 27 with an online video and hands-on for press. It’s not clear yet whether announcements come on the 28th or before. That’s also a change from the November 6 date I wrote about in this earlier rumor post.
My take
A touchscreen Mac is a big philosophical shift for Apple. And with M6 machines coming, the Omarchy M folks are going to have new hardware to chase.
