SpaceX scrubbed Monday’s Bandwagon-5 rideshare because of poor weather in the booster recovery zone. The new target is Tuesday, Oct 20, with an hour-long window opening at 5:30 a.m. CT from SLC-40 at Cape Canaveral.
- On board: SpaceX’s uncrewed Starfall reentry capsule plus 31 customer payloads, 20 of them manifested by Exolaunch.
- Weather is 90% favorable for launch, with a moderate risk at the recovery site.
- Booster B1085 is flying for the 19th time and aims for the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas. That would be the 672nd Falcon booster landing.
My take
Starfall is the interesting payload. Reentry capsules that bring products back from orbit could open a new kind of space manufacturing.
