Movement San Diego: Worship, Prayer and Baptisms in the Pacific

California keeps showing up in the revival news, and I’m here for it. CBN reported that thousands gathered at the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater on Saturday, October 17, for Movement San Diego 2026, a multi-church evangelistic gathering with worship, prayer, evangelism and open-air baptisms right there by the ocean.

What happened

  • Circuit Rider Music and Upper Room led worship.
  • Pastor Mike Doyle of Movement Church in New York City, who founded Movement San Diego, said the whole heart of the event was “we want to see revival in California, and we want to see people come to know the Lord Jesus.”
  • The organizers posted afterward: “Every baptism represents a life changed, a heart surrendered, and a YES to following Him!!”
  • Baptize the World, the effort that grew out of Baptize SoCal at Pirate’s Cove (4,000+ baptized back in 2023), is not officially connected but shares the mission. Its next synchronized mass-baptism campaign is set for Pentecost Sunday, May 16, 2027.

My take

I love that the next big baptism push is aimed at Pentecost. That’s the right date. The Holy Spirit fell on a crowd of ordinary people and three thousand were baptized in a single day. What we’re watching on beaches, in truck beds and on campuses looks a lot like Acts 2 coming back around.

Baptism isn’t a show. It’s a public yes. It’s a dead-and-buried, raised-to-new-life moment, and the water is just the outward sign of what the Spirit already did inside. Pray for these new believers, that they land in real churches, get filled with the Spirit and keep walking. The splash is the start, not the finish.

Have a blessed day! And Happy Hacking!
