Here’s a good one from Australia. Over the October long weekend, about 400 men gathered on a mountain near Inverell, New South Wales, for a camp called Mighty Men. OurStory shared what happened, and it’s the kind of report I love reading.
What happened
- The organizers said the men opened up from the very first night, which usually takes hours or days.
- More than 100 men lined up under a wooden cross to ask the prayer team for prayer.
- On Sunday morning, 11 men were baptized in a portable pool set up on the mountain. One of them said, “The Holy Spirit was THICK on Sunday.”
- Saturday focused on real repentance, holiness and breaking generational sin. One man said, “Fears were replaced by hope. Self was replaced by trust.”
- One man watched his son go forward and recommit his life to the Lord. Another brought a struggling friend who gave his life to Jesus that weekend: “The Angels were dancing!!!”
My take
Men need this. Not a lecture, but an encounter. When the Holy Spirit shows up, guys who never cry end up on their knees, forgiving people they swore they never would, and going home to lead their families. One man said he was “challenged to forgive someone I didn’t think I could.” That’s not willpower. That’s the Spirit.
Jesus said when the Spirit comes He will convict of sin and righteousness. That’s exactly what these men described, and the fruit was freedom. Pray for revival among men. When the fathers get on fire, the whole house catches.
