Fedora 45 Hits a Second NO-GO, Now Aiming for November 3

Fedora 45 slipped again. At the October 22 Go/No-Go meeting, open blockers pushed the release out at least another week, Phoronix reports. The new target is November 3, if the blockers are fixed by the next meeting.

The blockers

  • An update needed for eMudhra certificate issues.
  • The Fedora Server 45 AArch64 image is over its size limit.
  • LVM auto-activation failing after upgrade on LUKS-backed setups.
  • KDE Plasma Discover installing outdated Fedora 44 packages.

More proposed blockers involve the ip= kernel parameter at install and encrypted Stratis pools.

My take

I’d much rather they slip than ship an upgrade that won’t unlock an encrypted disk. If you’re on 44, sit tight.
