What’s New in Claude Code 2.1.311: Runner Holds and a Pile of Freeze Fixes

Claude Code v2.1.311 landed Oct 26. Highlights from the release notes:

  • New –hold-idle-file and –max-hold-min flags for self-hosted-runner keep an idle session open while your host reports leftover processes.
  • Fixed long freezes when a CLAUDE.md has a very long list item.
  • Interrupting Claude now works even if an MCP server is slow or a skill is still downloading.
  • Standard-context sessions that go past 200K tokens now compact and continue, instead of stopping with “Usage credits required.”
  • Subagents can use MCP tools from servers that finish connecting late.
  • Fixed stale MEMORY.md and CLAUDE.md content after auto-compaction, and SubagentStop hooks firing too often.

Solid cleanup release. Update when you can.

God Bless, and Happy hacking!
