This is the regular feature release, separate from the MCP RCE fix I covered. OpenCode v2.2.0 highlights:
- Create, install and share desktop plugins (experimental).
- A refreshed desktop app.
- Experimental image and decision generation APIs for plugins and the SDK.
- Plugins can add keyed session instructions without busting the prompt cache, and they survive compaction.
- Configurable prompt cache TTLs per provider or model, and the Todo tool is back in desktop as an opt-in.
Breaking changes
The @opencode/ai root now exports the Promise API, the Effect API moved to @opencode/ai/effect, and @opencode/ai/promise is gone. The OpenCode GitHub Action was removed. Check the release notes before you upgrade anything that depends on them.
