Apple Gives iPad mini an OLED Screen in Its Biggest Update Ever

Apple calls it the iPad mini’s biggest update ever, and the spec sheet backs that up.

  • A larger 8.5-inch OLED display, with a nano-texture option, and more than 2x the peak brightness of the last model.
  • A20 Pro on a 2-nanometer process, with Neural Accelerators in each GPU core and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine.
  • 5.4 mm thin, IP67 water and dust resistance, and an “Acoustic Display.”
  • A 12MP Center Stage front camera on the landscape edge, finally.
  • N1 for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread, and C2 cellular with up to 50% faster data on cellular models.

Pre-orders, alongside a new Smart Folio, open today (Wednesday, Oct. 28), with availability Friday, Nov. 6.

My take

A landscape camera and IP67 on the mini are the practical wins. OLED is the “wow.”

God Bless, and Use the Source!
