The Holy Spirit Nudged Him at the Gym. It Saved a Life

A pastor writing in The Christian Post tells how he noticed a guy named Briar at the gym. The tattoo sleeve caught his eye, but it was the sadness in his eyes, and a sense that the Holy Spirit wanted him to reach out, that made him walk over.

What happened

That first awkward chat led to a church visit, a year of on-and-off texts, and then a late-night call. When they finally met, the pastor got what Scripture calls a word of knowledge about Briar’s deepest regret. Briar was stunned, and halfway through reading a prayer of surrender he was in tears: “What is happening to me?” Weeks later he admitted he had tried to end his life the night he called. Today he’s walking with Jesus and married.

My take

This is the Spirit-led life in one story. Not a slicker outreach plan, just a nudge and someone willing to obey it. Philip got the same kind of nudge: “Go to that chariot and stay near it” (Acts 8:29). And “those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God” (Romans 8:14). Most of us feel those nudges and talk ourselves out of them. This week, when He prompts you, take the risk. Somebody’s life may be on the other end of it.

Holy Spirit, make us quick to hear and quick to obey. Amen.

God Bless, and Use the Source!
