Hermes Agent v0.22.6 shipped Nov 2. It’s a patch release that rolls up about 776 merged PRs since 0.22.5 (3,448 commits and 385 closed issues) into a stable build for the CLI and installers, the Microsoft Store app, Docker and Hermes Cloud. Full curated notes come with v0.23.0.
Highlights in the window
- A webapp served from the gateway’s own listener
- /model reset clears a session’s model pin without losing history
- Per-skill locks against autonomous writes
- Opt-in OS-keychain storage for the vault key
- A pre_llm_call hook that can block a turn before inference
- hermes cron cancel, plus a per-job missed-run policy
- hermes migrate and setup can move Grok Bot and OpenBot users over
Updating
CLI: hermes update. Docker: nousresearch/hermes-agent:stable. The desktop installer app updates with the next bundled release.
My take
Skill locks, keychain storage for the vault key and a blocking hook are the security-minded bits I like. That’s a lot of change for a “patch,” though.
Review before you install: read the release notes yourself, back up your config, and try new versions somewhere you can afford to break first.
