An update to my earlier post on harassment of Christians in Jerusalem. Some good news this time, via Charisma and All Israel News.
What’s new
Jerusalem City Hall and the Jewish People Policy Institute have launched a Forum for Partnership with Christian Communities, chaired by Mayor Moshe Lion. The first meeting brought heads of Jerusalem’s churches together with police, Justice Ministry officials and civil society groups. They went through hotline reports collected by Yisca Harani’s Religious Freedom Data Center, which logged 181 incidents last year. Many people never report, so the real number is probably higher.
Most of it is spitting, defacing crosses and humiliation rather than violence, but it wears people down. The mayor declared “zero tolerance” for religiously motivated harassment. Hundreds of Jewish Israeli volunteers in yellow vests now walk alongside Christian processions to deter it.
My take
Seeing neighbors stand up for neighbors makes me grateful. Keep praying for believers in the Holy City: for protection, for grace to bless those who curse them (Luke 6:28), and for this forum to bear real fruit. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6).
God Bless, and Use the Source!
