What’s New in OpenCode 2.2.6 and GitHub Copilot CLI 1.0.107

Two agent CLIs shipped on Nov. 6. Here’s what’s new.

OpenCode 2.2.6

  • Shared MCP connections: set pool: true to share one connection across projects with the same setup, so fewer processes and faster startup.
  • opencode run -w starts a session in a new git worktree (--worktree=<name> to name it).
  • opencode run --archived keeps scripted and CI runs out of your inbox and session lists.
  • GUI plugins can add color themes and code-block actions, and phones and tablets get a touch dock for the composer.
  • Per-provider session warming, and an experimental Code Mode bytecode VM (off by default).

Copilot CLI 1.0.107

I covered the 1.0.106 pre-releases (/code, the Fusion tier and the /settings dashboard) already. New in the stable 1.0.107:

  • Inline images in terminals that support Kitty direct placements.
  • GPT-6.1 Terra as a selectable model when your account has it.
  • A Sandbox extensions setting that runs extension processes inside the sandbox.
  • COPILOT_SESSION_CWD for LSP and local MCP configs, and status reporting to terminals that support it.
  • Fixes: --resume no longer hangs forever, pasted control characters are dropped, and sandboxed grep/rg/glob report Windows launch failures.

My take

Worktrees plus archived runs make OpenCode a lot nicer for CI. On Copilot, turn on the sandboxed extensions setting.

Review before you install: read the release notes yourself, back up your config, and try new versions somewhere you can afford to break first.

God Bless, and Happy hacking!
