Rumor, not a ship date. MacRumors, citing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman on his podcast, says Apple is planning OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro models for an introduction around October 27–28, with a possible retail launch Friday, November 6 after a big store floor reset the night before.
What Gurman is said to be claiming
Alongside the OLED touchscreen Pros: rumored OLED iPad mini, M6 iMac, and an M6 entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro. The OLED touch machines would likely sit above current mini-LED Pros and reuse M5 Pro / M5 Max rather than a new silicon generation. Gurman has walked back an earlier “MacBook Ultra” naming guess.
MacRumors also notes nearby calendar noise already on the books — iPhone Duo October 23, HomePod mini 2 October 30, HomeView and Apple TV 4K on November 13 — so a November 6 Mac launch would stack a busy window. None of that confirms the MacBook rumor; it only shows how crowded the shelf already is.
How I am reading it
I will not write “Apple announced” until Apple does. Touch on macOS has been a forever argument; OLED is the part I would actually pay for. If you are holding a purchase, wait for an Apple page or a store SKU — podcast timelines slip. Reported: November 6 is the date to watch, not the date to pre-order against.
If you need a machine this quarter, buy what Apple sells today. If you can wait, November’s first week is when either a real SKU appears or the rumor slides again. I am logging the date — not clearing desk space for a phantom OLED.
Have a blessed day!
