Plasma 6.8 shipped earlier this week, and work on 6.9 is already moving.
- Weather widget overhaul: a better layout and more forecast detail, pulled from Open-Meteo.
- Re-engineered on-screen keyboard: an optional full-size layout, a Japanese flick keyboard, and layouts that aren’t tied to your system locale.
- Plus bug fixes and prep for the 6.8.1 point release.
My take
I’m a tiling guy, but KDE keeps raising the bar for traditional desktops, and a good on-screen keyboard matters a lot for touch and 2-in-1 Linux machines.
