AerynOS 2026.11 is out, Phoronix reports.
- lichen-installer is on the ISO as an alternative installer for testing, not the default yet
- fwupd is finally in the repo for firmware updates
- Budgie is now a desktop option, including at install time
- Package bumps include GNOME 51.1, KDE Plasma 6.8.2, COSMIC 1.11, Mesa 26.2.6, QEMU 11.1.3 and Wine 11.21, on Linux 7.2.14
My take
An original distro with its own tooling is always fun to watch. Still early-adopter territory.
Review before you install: read the release notes yourself, back up your config, and try new versions somewhere you can afford to break first.
God Bless, and May the Source Be with You!
