Nvidia’s Jensen Huang spoke with Fireworks.ai CEO Lin Qiao at the Forge event, The Register reports.
- “We love closed models. There’s a solid place in the world for closed frontier models.” But “the idea that all of us would be based on general intelligence is not logical.”
- Most value is in specialized intelligence: take an open frontier model, adapt it with your domain knowledge and tools, evaluate it, and “you should be able to create essentially a superintelligence”
- Qiao was blunter about cost: “Cost is out of control”
My take
Of course Nvidia wins either way. But the specialized-open-model point lines up with Revolut’s story today.
God Bless, and Use the Source!
