Another coding agent is joining the Omarchy lineup. DHH merged pull request #7261 on October 14, which makes Moonshot AI’s Kimi Code a selectable default agent. It lands in the next version (Quattro), per Omarchy Central.
How you pick it
One command: omarchy default agent kimi (kimi-code works too). Or go through Setup > Defaults > Agent in the Omarchy menu. Under the hood Omarchy installs the official @moonshot-ai/kimi-code npm package through mise. Interactive sessions launch with kimi --yolo, and initial prompts go through Kimi’s non-interactive --prompt mode.
I like that the PR is polite to people who already set Kimi up themselves. The migration only adds a lazy launcher when the kimi command is missing, and it respects the preinstall opt-out. Removing preinstalls deletes only Omarchy’s wrapper, not a Kimi you installed on your own.
Quotas in the agents panel
A companion PR, #7274 (also merged October 14), adds an omarchy-agent-usage-kimi collector so the agents panel shows your session, weekly and monthly limits. It records account limits only — no local token or prompt stats. It uses KIMI_API_KEY if set, otherwise your saved sign-in under ~/.kimi-code. If a probe fails, the panel keeps the last numbers with their original timestamp and marks them stale instead of showing an empty meter.
That is the right call. Stale-but-labeled beats blank every time when you are trying to decide which agent still has gas in the tank.
Omarchy keeps treating agents like first-class desktop citizens. More choice, same one-line switch.
Have a blessed day! And Happy Hacking!
