Kirk Franklin sat down with the Christian Post to talk about his new album, I Am What I Am, and he didn’t do the polished-celebrity thing. He opened up about his shortcomings as a husband and father, the criticism over his collaboration with GloRilla, his mental health, and a fresh understanding of God’s grace.
Why it matters
We need more of this. Church culture sometimes acts like the people on stage have it all together, and then the rest of us hide our mess. Kirk owning his failures out loud is a testimony in itself.
My take
Grace isn’t for people who have it figured out. Paul heard it straight from the Lord: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). The broken places are exactly where the Holy Spirit does His best work. Watch the interview and let it encourage you to bring your own mess to Jesus instead of hiding it.
God Bless, and Happy hacking!
