Christian Today ran a practical piece on evangelism from Obianuju Mbah, who does street evangelism and teaches the Bible to young people. If talking about Jesus makes your palms sweat, this one’s for you.
The tips that stuck with me
- Prepare spiritually first. Salvation isn’t in our control. Faith is a gift (Ephesians 2:8-9). Pray for the people you’ll meet and ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words (Luke 12:12).
- Stay in the Word. Not to win arguments, but to know Him. What fills your heart comes out of your mouth (Matthew 12:34).
- People aren’t as scary as they seem. Everybody’s searching for meaning, love or belonging. When a friend shares a struggle, that’s often a natural opening to share how God has carried you.
- Let God give the growth. One plants, another waters, God makes it grow (1 Corinthians 3:6).
My take
The Great Commission isn’t just for the bold extroverts (Matthew 28:19-20). Jesus promised the Spirit would give us power to be His witnesses (Acts 1:8). You don’t need a script. You need to be filled, and willing. Ask Him today for one open door, then walk through it.
Have a blessed day! And Happy Hacking!
