The Sidewalk Between the Arena and the Water

On Tuesday night, September 29, 2026, UniteUS filled the Watsco Center on the University of Miami campus in Coral Gables. Tonya Prewett, Madison Prewett Troutt, and Grant Troutt preached. JWALKERS led worship. Then hundreds of students said yes to Jesus — and walked outside to be baptized.

The number we actually have

Prewett posted that hundreds went all in with Jesus and followed up with water baptism. CBN, Crosswalk, and WWJD all carried that word: hundreds. Nobody has published a clean arena total or a baptism count I can verify, so I am not inventing one. Hundreds is enough to make you catch your breath.

UniteUS wrote about going outside afterward and watching students get baptized — moments they said they would never forget. Friends cheering. Students still wet in the night air. That is the Acts pattern showing up on a South Florida sidewalk: believe, get baptized, then figure out Monday.

The walk after the altar

Arenas are loud. Discipleship is quiet. The Holy Spirit meets kids in a packed gym, and He also walks them back to dorms and group chats. Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV) does not end at the decision — it keeps going into teaching and presence. Acts 2:38–41 (ESV) ties repentance, baptism, and a people who stay together.

I have seen enough altar calls to know the photos travel farther than the follow-up. UniteUS already prayed out loud that what God began would keep growing as students headed back to everyday life. Local churches and campus ministries around Coral Gables are the ones who can answer that prayer with a name, a Bible, and a seat on Sunday. That is not anti-arena. It is pro-discipleship. The Spirit fell in the Watsco Center. He also walks the sidewalk.

If you know a Miami student who was there, ask who is opening a Bible with them this week. Pray for Appalachian State on October 13 and South Alabama on October 27. Campus nights matter. The sidewalk between the arena and the water matters more than we admit — because that is where a decision becomes a walk.

Have a blessed day!
