Hermes Agent v0.23.0, the “Hearth” release, is out. It rolls up and documents everything since 0.22.0 (~1,950 merged PRs).
Headlines
- Webapp: your full Desktop workspace in a browser tab, served by your own gateway. Off by default (
webapp.enabledor Web Access in Settings) - One gateway owns every conversation: CLI, TUI, Desktop, editors, bots and cron all attach as clients to one session owner, so messages stop doubling or vanishing
- Desktop keeps every machine’s gateway connected at once; Group Chats can mix bots from different hosts
- Plugin catalog grew from about 600 to over 1,050 entries; paid MCP tools can show price tags and spend limits
- Lots of memory and latency work for long-lived gateways
My take
One gateway per machine is the architecture that should have been there from the start. Leave the Webapp off until you mean to expose it.
Review before you install: read the release notes yourself, back up your config, and try new versions somewhere you can afford to break first.
God Bless, and May the Source Be with You!
