Firefox 159 Fixes a Memory Hog Bug on AMD Linux Graphics

Firefox 159 is out, and Phoronix flags a fix Linux users with AMD graphics will care about: Firefox could use way too much memory when showing map or place results on sites like ChatGPT. That’s fixed now.

Also in this release: a fix for tabs on Wayland, improvements to Firefox’s AI integrations, saved passwords in the sidebar by default, and scroll-driven animations on by default for web devs.

My take

If you’ve seen Firefox memory spike on an AMD Linux box, update and see if it calms down.

God Bless, and May the Source Be with You!
