Per Apple’s enterprise release notes for macOS 27.2, MacRumors reports that upgrading to macOS 27 no longer removes an existing Rosetta install. Before this, the upgrade wiped it out.
Heads-up though: macOS 27 is still the last release with full Rosetta support. Apple plans to start phasing out general-purpose support in macOS 28.
My take
Good fix, but the clock is ticking. If you still lean on Intel-only apps, now’s the time to find native replacements.
God Bless, and Happy hacking!
