Tor Browser 16.0: Linux on Arm64, New Settings, and Generic Window Titles

Tor Browser 16.0 is out. It’s the first stable release built on Firefox ESR 153.

What’s new

  • Linux on 64-bit Arm. It’s official now, which is good news for Arm laptops and boards.
  • Redesigned settings.
  • Generic window titles. This stops other apps on your desktop from reading what you’re browsing out of the window title. It’s a nice touch on tiling setups where bars and launchers show titles.
  • Android moves to Material Design 3.
  • 32-bit x86 Linux is gone, following Firefox.

If you still run Tor Browser on an old 32-bit box, now’s the time to move. Everyone else should just update.

God Bless, and Happy hacking!
