Update: Last week I wrote that iOS 27.3 beta was coming with Apple Intelligence for China. Beta 1 is out now for developers, and there’s more in it than the China features.
What’s new so far
- The redesigned Health app is back in beta, and Apple says it ships with 27.3 before year end.
- Safari on iOS and macOS 27.3 gets vertical tabs and adaptive dark mode.
- Siri AI can take actions in Calendar, Journal, Messages, Music and more, and it now supports Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish and Norwegian.
- iPhone Duo gets a sideways Reachability. StandBy on regular iPhones gets customizable, swipeable clock faces.
- watchOS 27.3 adds Siri Recap and Live Rewind. Fitness+ adds Gym Strength plans. iPadOS adds Siri Mode in Camera.
My take
Vertical tabs in Safari, finally. It’s beta 1, so keep it off your daily phone unless you like surprises. A public beta should follow soon.
