Phoronix reports AMD is getting cozy with Omarchy. Anush Elangovan, AMD’s VP of AI Software (the ROCm guy), has been praising Omarchy on X and holds the fastest Omarchy install time, on AMD hardware.
What happened
At the Fireworks Forge event he met DHH and gave him an HP ZBook with an AMD Ryzen AI Max 495+ “Gorgon Halo.” His post: “AMD ❤️ Omarchy. Great things are ahead.”
Phoronix notes Omarchy already has backers like Alibaba, SpaceXSI, DigitalOcean and Meta SuperIntelligence Labs putting money into development.
My take
A Ryzen AI Max box running Omarchy with ROCm is a very interesting local-AI machine. Nothing official has been announced yet, so let’s see what “great things” turns out to mean.
God Bless, and May the Source Be with You!
