All Five DNA/RNA Nucleobases Found in Pristine Ryugu Asteroid Samples

ScienceDaily (via The Conversation): a Nature Astronomy study confirms all five main nucleobases—adenine, guanine, cytosine, thymine and uracil—in samples Japan’s Hayabusa2 returned from asteroid Ryugu.

Why it matters

Uracil showed up in earlier work; the new paper fills in the rest in pristine asteroid material. That strengthens the case these genetic “letters” were widespread in the early Solar System, not unique to Earth chemistry.

My take

I’m a creation guy who still loves a good rock from space. The ingredients showing up off-world doesn’t write God out of the story—it makes the setup look even more intentional.

God Bless, and May the Source Be with You!
