Omarchy 4.5 just shipped and DHH is already talking up 4.6. “Omarchy 4.6 is already far along too. And this one won’t take as long to drop,” he posted on X. No date yet, but his list has four items:
- Flesh out the whole Snapdragon lineup
- Perfect the NVIDIA N1x machines
- Out-of-the-box local AI
- Hopefully finish Omarchy Kids
Snapdragon is moving fast
Omarchy Central counts a pile of PRs merged Nov. 6-7. A machine installed without Windows to copy firmware from had no sound, battery reading or GPU acceleration; omarchy-pkgs now carries firmware packages for 33 machines. Other fixes stop the blind disk-unlock prompt on Snapdragon X2 laptops like the HP OmniBook Ultra 14 and the Anduril BlueChip, refresh device trees before each boot image build, give the BlueChip a real audio profile (left speakers only for now), and set up unlock, audio and sleep on the ASUS Zenbook 14 UX3480QA.
Local AI
The engine merged Nov. 1 but missed 4.5.0. It picks an open model that fits your hardware and runs it in a rootless Podman container with no network access, right in the agents panel.
My take
Local AI in a locked-down Podman container by default is exactly how I’d want it. That’s the 4.6 feature I’m waiting for.
