Sealwax 1.2.0: A Free, MIT-Licensed Mail Client Built for Omarchy

Omarchy has its own mail client now. Sealwax is a fast, minimal email app written in Rust with GTK 4 and libadwaita, and it follows your live Omarchy theme and font. It’s from Fredrick Thorsen (PixDevs, Norway), and it hit 1.2.0 on Nov. 7 after 28 releases in four weeks.

What it does

  • Type your address and it finds the servers. IMAP with IDLE push and offline copies, plus POP3.
  • Sign in with Microsoft for Outlook.com and Microsoft 365. iCloud, Fastmail, Yahoo and Gmail use app passwords (no Sign in with Google).
  • One-click unsubscribe, group by sender or domain, bulk archive or delete, and pinned senders.
  • Sieve rules, one-key shortcuts, an F1 command palette and custom bindings in keys.toml.
  • 1.2.0 fixes the list jumping around in the grouped views.

Privacy

Per the README, no script in a message ever runs, nothing remote loads until you allow it, passwords and tokens live in your keyring, there’s no telemetry, and it only checks for updates when you ask. MIT licensed, and Omarchy Central found no paid tier.

My take

Blocking remote content by default and keeping secrets in the keyring is the right call. Good little app.

God Bless, and May the Source Be with You!
