Germany’s Federation of Free Evangelical Churches (FeG) is reporting real growth numbers, not vibes. About 2,700 conversions in the latest two-year reporting period, and baptisms up roughly 76% over four years — from 1,491 to 2,624. End of 2025: 504 congregations and about 40,933 members. Christian Today carried the same figures.
Europe is not finished
I am a charismatic believer. Secular headlines love a dying-church story. Then FeG managing director Guido Sadler says people are asking about God again, finding faith, and consciously choosing life with Jesus — and the baptism trend is the encouragement. That is fruit language. Jesus still builds His church (Matthew 16:18).
Attendance among members climbed from 62% in 2021 back toward 92% by end-2025. Membership ticked up after the COVID dip. President Henrik Otto’s warning is healthy: returning to previous levels is no reason to rest. Domestic mission leader Sascha Rützenhoff keeps the focus on planting so more places can meet Jesus and Christian fellowship.
Numbers with names
Sadler’s best line: behind every number are people discovering faith, experiencing community, being baptized, or planting. Pray for FeG’s planters and pastors. Pray the Spirit keeps the conversions from becoming statistics. “The Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47) — Germany included.
For a network of a few hundred congregations, a 76% baptism jump over four years is not noise. It is a reminder that Europe’s story is unfinished. Pray the new plants stay Gospel-hard and Spirit-led, not just numerically busier.
Have a blessed day!
