Omarchy Central reports that on October 14, 2026, DHH posted that Fortnite is coming to Linux and that Omarchy is “already working with the folks at Epic Games” on security requirements. No release date was given. I am treating the Epic coordination claim as reported via that community write-up and DHH’s post — not as an Epic press release.
What is actually in the repo
There is a concrete, still-open community pull request (#15477) that would replace Heroic under Install → Gaming with Epic’s native Linux launcher Preview. That PR is not merged, so you cannot install Fortnite-ready Epic from the Omarchy menu today. Anti-cheat has been the long Linux blocker for titles like this; “security requirements” is the right phrase to watch.
If you care about day-one readiness, watch three things: whether Epic publishes a Linux Fortnite date, whether #15477 (or a successor) merges, and what anti-cheat path actually ships. Until then, keep Heroic assumptions, and do not rearrange a production box for a rumor-shaped timeline.
Practical take
Cool if it lands. Omarchy moving early with Epic would fit the project’s gaming install lane. I will update when there is a date or a merged launcher change — not before. Reported excitement is not a ship checklist.
Linux gaming progress usually dies in anti-cheat details. Until Epic or Omarchy publish requirements in plain language, treat “day one” as aspirational. I would rather be late and secure than early and surprised by a kernel module I did not audit.
Have a blessed day!
