A Kit Turns the 2019 Mac Pro Case Into a PC

Apple discontinued the Mac Pro in March, and now a crowdfunded kit from Practical Prototyping lets 2019 owners reuse that iconic cheese-grater case for a PC build, MacRumors reports via Hackster.

The details

  • Fits a standard ATX motherboard and power supply in the Mac Pro 7,1 chassis, and it’s reversible.
  • GPUs up to 308mm long, air coolers up to 140mm, an optional 240mm liquid cooler mount, and two SATA drives.
  • Reuses the three front fans, power button, light and top USB-C ports.
  • Kickstarter pledges start around $500 before shipping, with shipping estimated for March 2027. Crowdfunding isn’t a guarantee.

My take

That case is too good to scrap. Just remember you’re supplying every component yourself.

God Bless, and Use the Source!
