Mac Admins Ship AI-Written Configs in Seconds, but Rolling Back Takes Days

A Fleet survey of 250+ enterprise Apple admins, written up by 9to5Mac, shows AI is already everywhere in Mac IT.

The numbers

  • In the past 30 days, 68% used AI for troubleshooting or log analysis, 62% to write scripts and 61% to write device management profiles.
  • 86% let AI-written output into production after some review.
  • But 69% can’t roll back a bad config within an hour, and 43% need more than a day.

My take

That rollback gap is the real story. AI makes it easy to push a broken profile to thousands of Macs in seconds. Keep configs in version control, test on a small ring first, and make sure you know how to undo a change before you ship it.

God Bless, and May the Source Be with You!
