Omarchy Control Puts Every Setting Behind One Search Box, and It Wants Testers

Jason Alexander’s Omarchy Control is out for testing, Omarchy Central reports. It’s a native Qt 6 settings app from his Last Refuge project that follows your Omarchy theme and language live.

What it does

  • Ctrl+K searches everything: themes, fonts, bar and dock, idle, power profiles, DNS, sound, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi
  • Reuses Omarchy’s own commands instead of reinventing them
  • Backs up every change, reads the value back to verify it, and restores the old file if the check fails
  • Keeps its Hyprland overrides in one file so they’re easy to find

The README claims 98 native settings pages and a destination for every public Omarchy 4.5 command or menu row.

My take

Back up, verify, restore. That’s how I want every settings tool to work. It’s a test build from a community project, so read the install script before you pipe it to bash.

Review before you install: read the release notes yourself, back up your config, and try new versions somewhere you can afford to break first.

God Bless, and Happy hacking!
