Scientists studying Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera images found over 10,000 young faults across the Moon’s surface.
What they found
- As the Moon’s interior cools, it contracts. The new estimate: its radius has shrunk about 148 feet (45 meters) over the last 400 to 800 million years.
- Lead author Thomas Watters says the number of young faults is “much greater than I ever imagined,” and new faults are likely still forming.
My take
That matters for where we put future Moon bases. The heavens declare the glory of God, and they’re still moving.
Have a blessed day! And Happy Hacking!
