Update: I’ve been following the touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro rumors for weeks. Apple announced it today.
What Apple announced
- MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display, a tandem OLED, in 14- and 16-inch sizes: up to 2000 nits, 10,000,000:1 contrast, 10 to 120Hz.
- Touch on a Mac for the first time, plus the Dynamic Island for Spotlight, Live Activities and Siri AI.
- M5 Pro and M5 Max, up to 128GB of memory and now up to 16TB of storage.
- Up to 24 hours of battery, 3- and 4-pound designs, 50% deeper bass, and the glowing Apple logo is back.
- From $2,899 (14-inch) and $3,399 (16-inch). Pre-orders today, available Friday, November 6.
Also today, the M5 Ultra Mac Studio can be configured with 512GB of RAM, starting at $22,299.
My take
A touchscreen Mac. I never thought I’d type that. For local AI folks, that 512GB Mac Studio is the real headline.
God Bless, and Use the Source!
