Copilot CLI 1.0.106 is still in pre-release, and builds -1 through -9 have landed since October 31. Here’s what stood out.
New
/codeopens the current session in VS Code- A Fusion tier setting in
copilot config, and/settingsis now one dashboard with global search - Windows local model downloads install llama.cpp for you
- Opt-in session management tools, and the browser-use plugin moves to 0.1.0
Fixes worth knowing
- A long list of fixes so model text, MCP errors, file names and branch names can’t sneak terminal escape sequences in to hide or restyle what you see
- A prompt before reaching outside the workspace through dangling symlinks or
--name=/pathstyle options --yoloand--allow-allnow apply when you resume a session, so watch out- Long conversations recover from oversized requests by trimming old reasoning and retrying
- apply_patch keeps mixed LF/CRLF line endings and reports real line counts
My take
The escape-sequence cleanup is the big one. If a model or a file can redraw your approval prompt, you might approve something you never saw. These are pre-releases, so stay on stable unless you want to test.
Review before you install: read the release notes yourself, back up your config, and try new versions somewhere you can afford to break first.
God Bless, and Happy hacking!
