Two quick OpenCode releases landed after 2.2.1.
2.2.2
- Image generation is on by default when a connected provider supports image models. Set the model with
experimental.image_generate.model. - Click the current Git branch on the new-session screen to jump to the worktree picker.
- Persistent terminal requests are rejected if their working directory no longer exists, and classic question cards are back by default.
2.2.3
- New built-in Claude Agent provider: install Claude Code, run
claude auth login, then pick Claude Agent in/connectto use your Claude Code login and models. - Much faster long sessions and streaming in Desktop, plus stability fixes.
- Permissions change: new
mcp.use,skill.useandplugin.useactions. Old prefix rules convert automatically, but a bareintegration.userule no longer covers MCP servers, skills or plugins. Check your rules. - SDK-only breaking changes for code importing
@opencode/ai, and@opencode/pluginnow needs OpenTUI 0.8.0+.
Review before you install: read the release notes and any command yourself before you run it, back up your config, and try it somewhere you can afford to break first.
My take
If you wrote permission rules that rely on integration.use, re-check them after updating so MCP servers and plugins aren’t quietly opened up or locked out.
God Bless, and May the Source Be with You!
