A large coronal hole is sending fast solar wind toward Earth, Space.com reports. NOAA’s SWPC expects minor (G1) geomagnetic storm conditions Nov. 6-8, with a chance of moderate (G2) on Nov. 7-8. If G2 happens, auroras could be visible as far south as New York and Idaho.
The UK Met Office expects wind speeds around 550-650 km/s, well above the usual ~400 km/s, arriving around Nov. 6-7.
My take
If you’re in the northern US this weekend, check the forecast, find a dark spot and look up. “The heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1).
God Bless, and Use the Source!
