Blue Origin announced GS3, a third stage for New Glenn, Space.com reports. It says the stage will help put satellite constellations straight into GEO and support heavy science missions to the Moon and deep space.
- Today’s New Glenn is two-stage (7×2): seven BE-4s below, two BE-3Us above. About 14.3 tons to GTO and 50 tons to LEO
- A 9×4 super-heavy variant is also in the works
- New Glenn has flown three times so far, all as 7×2
My take
A third stage makes New Glenn more of a deep-space truck. Competition in that lane is good.
God Bless, and Use the Source!
