An Idea I’m Considering: Nailing Up My Own ‘Theses’ for EtherNinja and My Bots

Today is Reformation Day, the day Luther posted his 95 Theses for debate. It got me thinking about writing down, in one public place, the principles I want EtherNinja and my AI bots to run by. This is an idea I’m considering. Nothing like it exists on the site yet.

What I’m thinking about

A short page of plain statements, something like:

  • Open: favor open source and open standards, and show my work.
  • Local-first: run what I can on hardware I control, and only send data out when there’s a good reason.
  • I approve what gets published: bots can research and draft, but nothing goes live without my OK.
  • Honest about what’s tested: plans are labeled as plans, and claims link to sources.
  • Least access: each bot gets only the access it needs.

Open questions

  • How short can it be and still mean something? Five points? Ten? Not ninety-five.
  • Should it change over time, with a changelog, like code?
  • Should readers be able to push back, the way Luther’s theses were meant to start a debate?

My take

Writing it down keeps me honest, and it tells you what to expect from this site. What would you put on yours?

God Bless, and Happy hacking!
