Apple added an “Intelligent Assistant” to Keynote, Numbers and Pages on Thursday. It’s in beta and it’s for Apple Creator Studio subscribers, MacRumors reports. The apps were briefly pulled from the App Store and are available again.
What it does
- Numbers: builds formulas from plain language, visualizes data and generates tables.
- Pages: starts a first draft, edits and organizes your writing, drafts sections, adjusts tone, and generates images or shapes.
- Keynote: helps build and refine slides, adds animations, creates presenter notes, and generates images and shapes. Keynote also gets an Interchange Format for importing and exporting presentations.
- In all three, it can search the web for a topic and add the results to your document, walk you through advanced features and suggest things to try.
Also in the update
- New templates and themes and curated videos in a Content Hub for Creator Studio subscribers.
- Bug fixes and performance improvements for everyone.
- Support for iPhone Duo, which isn’t in the release notes but is in all three apps.
The apps are free. The Intelligent Assistant needs Creator Studio, which is $12.99 per month and works across Apple’s creator apps.
My take
Natural-language formulas in Numbers is the one I’d try first. It’s a beta, so check any generated formula or figure before it goes in a report, and remember web results added to a document still need a human to verify them.
Have a blessed day! And Happy Hacking!
