SpaceXSI’s Grok Bot Teammates IncidentWatch and IncidentSweep Triage Support Incidents

SpaceXSI shared a real use case for Grok Bot: two AI teammates that handle the support queue when something breaks. IncidentWatch spots ticket spikes before internal alerts fire, and IncidentSweep clears the related backlog in an approved batch.

How it works

  • IncidentWatch checks the previous 15 minutes of tickets every five minutes for spikes around the same problem. If the pattern doesn’t match a known incident, it alerts the support engineer on call with the apparent issue, the number of matching tickets and examples. It also holds tickets that clearly match while a human decides if it’s an incident.
  • Once the incident is confirmed and posted to the public status page, the team’s customer-facing Support Bot returns to the held tickets and responds to the customers whose reports match.
  • IncidentSweep handles the cleanup when it’s resolved. A support engineer tells it which tickets to consider, which to exclude and exactly what to send. It reviews each ticket, sets aside any it can’t confidently tie to the incident, and shows the proposed batch and the exact message for approval.
  • After approval it sends in small batches and records each action. It never adds tickets after approval, and if anything fails it stops and reports what happened.
  • On September 18, during one incident, IncidentSweep cleared 204 tickets in about 10 minutes with a support engineer reviewing and approving the batch.

My take

What I like is the design more than the number. The agent does the repetitive hunting and sorting. A human approves the batch and the message. It records everything and stops on errors. That’s the right shape for giving bots real jobs: clear ownership, a preview, an approval step and a paper trail.

Have a blessed day! And Happy Hacking!
