Omarchy 4.0.6 fixes the 4.0.5 OpenClaw migration that blocked updates, so it’s worth getting every machine onto it. Here’s the simple routine I’d follow.
1. Before you update
- Save your work and plug in laptops.
- If you’ve customized boot or kernel settings, note what you changed. 4.0.6 handles the plain
=Limine command line case, but it’s good to know your own edits.
2. Run the update
Open the Omarchy menu and pick Update > Omarchy, or run omarchy update in a terminal. Do one machine first, then the rest.
3. If a machine was stuck on 4.0.5
Just run the update again. The OpenClaw migration fix in 4.0.6 lets it finish.
4. Your own OpenClaw install
If ~/.local/bin/openclaw is your own npm install, the update leaves it alone and the gateway won’t start after reboot. Use the one-liner in the 4.0.6 release notes. It renames your copy, resets the failed service, reinstalls Omarchy’s OpenClaw CLI and starts the gateway.
5. Reboot and check
- Reboot and make sure you can unlock the disk. Non-Latin layouts work again.
- Suspend once and confirm the screen locks.
- Run the update one more time. It should report you’re current.
