A nice under-the-hood change is coming in the next Omarchy. jdx, the developer behind mise, swapped Omarchy’s generated ~/.local/bin wrappers for mise’s native lazy installation, and Ryan Hughes merged it on October 18.
Why it matters
The old wrappers ran mise use -g on every single call to tools like codex, claude or gh. That rewrote the global config each time, could hit the network before the tool even started, and could loop forever with gh. One reported machine piled up around 20 stuck processes.
Now the first run installs the tool and every later run calls the binary directly. About 20 defaults live in one config file that ships with Omarchy.
The agent bonus
Eleven agent CLIs, including Codex, Claude Code, Copilot, Grok, opencode and Cursor’s agent, get auto_update = "4h". If one hasn’t checked in four hours, mise upgrades it before it runs, so your agent doesn’t miss newer models. Offline or failed update? It just runs what you have.
